Jackie earned a BA from Mercy College in Detroit in 1983 and
then worked with the rehabilitation of convicted felons through Superior
Courts. She developed an interest in vocational rehabilitation for people
with disabilities and became employed by the North Carolina Division of
Vocational Rehabilitation in Fayetteville. While employed by NCDVR, she
completed instruction in six rehabilitation institutes through the federally
funded Council on Rehabilitation Education curriculum to become a Vocational
Rehabilitation Counselor. Following three years of employment with NCDVR,
Jackie has worked for nine years in the private sector providing vocational
rehabilitation services for injured workers. Jackie is a Certified
Disability Management Specialist (CDMS). |
