Janet Sams, RN, CCM

Case Manager

(Kannapolis, NC)

Janet has worked in workers’ comp case management since 1997.  Initially she worked in hospital nursing on medical surgical floors, home health nursing and working in an Orthopaedic clinic with physicians treating a variety of orthopaedic problems, conservatively and surgically.  She has also performed utilization review through an insurance provider.  She has worked with an insurance provider/TPA with some of the early HMO/POS managed care products performing UR, medical necessity reviews and attended with the sales staff some employer/employee meetings explaining and discussing the managed care products.  Janet became a CCM (Certified Case Manager) in 1999, after working in workers’ comp case management for several years and has continued in case management since. She has worked with Carolina Case Management since 2006.
