Karen received an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Johnston Community College in Smithfield, NC. Since 2004, she has been working in medical case management for worker’s compensation clients. She was previously employed by a company out of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania where she provided medical case management for Eastern North Carolina and surrounding states. She also worked with Employers to obtain pre-injury and modified job descriptions. Prior to working as a medical case manager she specialized in Cardiac nursing where she worked with mostly a geriatric population and Emergency nursing in the Johnston County area and where she obtained certification in trauma nursing, advanced cardiac life support and pediatric cardiac life support.
