Melissa is a native of Raleigh, NC who received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from North Carolina State University in 1993 and a Master’s Degree in Substance Abuse Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling from East Carolina University in May, 1996. Her experience began in 1995 where she worked as a job coach identifying employment opportunities for individuals with work related injuries. Upon completion of her Master's Degree and earning her C.R.C. in 1996, she gained experience completing vocational assessments, labor market surveys, transferable skills analyses, and job analyses. She also completed a training manual for entry-level counselors. In 2001, she came to Carolina Case Management, Inc. where she continues to provide vocational services to individuals who have sustained physical disabilities. Melissa also has experience assisting individuals with mental illness, cognitive impairments, brain injuries, and developmental delays by locating suitable employment through the administering of vocational tests/evaluations, identifying job skills, and assisting with job search. She is also a Licensed Outpatient Psychotherapist/Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist where she assesses, diagnoses and provides clinical services to individuals, families, and groups diagnosed with mental illness, substance abuse, and developmental disorders.
