Jennifer Colvard, RN, BSN, CCM, Telephonic Case Manager (Raleigh, NC)

Jennifer has had worked in workers compensation case management as a telephonic case manager for 10 years. She was a manager/ team leader with Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina prior to coming to work for CCM and has experience in risk management and injury and illness prevention and health promotion programming. Jennifer has a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Queens College and is working towards a Masters in Health Care Administration/ Management. Jennifer has been a certified case manager since 2001.

Karen Hughes, RN, CCM, Telephonic Case Manager (Waynesville, NC)

Karen received her degree as a registered nurse from Blue Ridge Community College in Hendersonville NC. She has twenty-two years of nursing experience. She has been employed for over 6 years in the field of rehabilitation case management for workers’ compensation claims including field and telephonic management. Other nursing experience includes 18 years emergency room nursing, clinic nurse manager of an urgent and occupational health clinic for 8 years, hospital house supervisor and inpatient case management and utilization review. Karen is a licensed RN in NC and is a Certified Case Manager (CCM). She and her husband are enjoying raising an eleven year old that helps to keep her young.

Ashante’ Johnson, RN, BSN, CCM, Telephonic Case Manager (Huntersville, NC)

Ashante' Johnson obtained her ASN degree from Nassau Community College in 2001 and her BSN degree in April of 2015. She has been a practicing RN for 15 years.  Ashante's specialty areas include medical-surgical nursing, home health nursing, LTC, and workers compensation.  She has been working in the workers compensation arena for 10 years.  She has been CCM certified since 2008. Ashante' is currently licensed in North Carolina, New York, and Georgia.

Rae Marsmaker, RN, COHN-S, CCM, MSCC, Telephonic Case Manager (Walland/Knoxville, TN)

Rae graduated from Lakeland Community College, OH in 1974. After obtaining 15 years experience in the acute care setting, with an emphasis on ICU and ER, Rae branched out into Occupational Health and Workers’ Compensation Case Management and has spent the past 20 years in this field. Her experience includes employee health, treatment of work-related injuries, field and telephonic case management and workers’ compensation utilization review. Rae joined the CCM Telephonic Case Management Team in August 2009.

January Wells, RN, CCM, Telephonic Case Manager (Leland, NC)

January graduated from nursing school in 1998. After spending a few years in general medicine and pediatrics, her focus for about 8 years turned to home health case management and supervision. She also spent several years working as a Resident Care Director and supervisor in an assisted living community. January has served as an educator and caregiver resource in her community for over a decade. January then went to work as a Field Case Manager in Workman's compensation, working with catastrophic injuries and complex injury cases.  January is a certified case manager who joined the telephonic case management team in October of 2013.

LeAnn Wood, RN, CCM, Telephonic Case Manager (State Road, NC)

LeAnn Wood attended Methodist School of Nursing in Peoria, IL. She maintains Multi-State Licensure in all compact states with her North Carolina nursing license. She also has an Illinois, California, Georgia, and West Virginia nursing license. She has practiced workers compensation case management in Illinois, North Carolina and Oregon, both telephonic and field Case Management. She has been a Certified Case Manager since 2000. LeAnn has 29 years of nursing experience in a variety of specialties, including, Medical, Surgical, Geriatric, Oncology, and Home Health. She has done Workers Compensation Case Management for 20 years.
